Over ten years, EDF Energy will build the first new nuclear power station in the United Kingdom since 1995; Hinkley Point C. One of the largest construction projects in Europe, the new station will, ultimately, secure low-carbon electricity for six-million homes in the UK, and avoid ten-million tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. This will involve the procurement, management and integration of over 160 contracts of varying degrees of complexity, involving a diverse international supply chain. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime project and we need Contract Managers to make it happen.

About the role

Join us as a Contract Manager and you’ll manage the high-volume of complex commercial contracts covering everything from civil engineering, process plants and services contracts. The other major infrastructure projects in the UK are civil engineering projects, and follow the blueprint of what came before them. Not us. Hinkley Point C is unique: it needs to span across a range of industries and disciplines to make it happen. You’ll get to work on various different project groups as you rotate internally and help us deliver this ground-breaking project.

This is a project of staggering scale, with unique challenges, and – for the right candidates – an opportunity to embark on a career-defining experience. Join us and together we’ll build a legacy that stands the test of time.

About you

We’re looking for people who are tenacious and excited by the scale and complexity of this challenge to join us. You’ll also need:

  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Contract Management experience in Civil Engineering, Automotive, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, FMCG, or Services & Facilities
  • To be able to manage a broad and diverse set of contracts
  • The drive and desire to alter the landscape of UK energy

Training at EDF Energy

Hinkley Point C is about investment. That’s why we’ll make sure you are fully trained on the systems and processes, on domestic and international contracts from open to close. You’ll have an ongoing training and development plan, and we’ll support you in attaining professional qualifications. We’re shaping the future of UK energy – and we want you to grow with us.
