The Role

This role will take lead responsibility for developing strategic, commercial and forward thinking quality commissioning for all digital and IT related services; managing a professional IT Category and Contract Management service that is aligned with other corporate services.  

The role is accountable for ensuring rigor in assessing supplier competency and product suitability, assessing the total cost of ownership including product renewal, exit and overall performance.

You will have knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to local authorities. You will hold a relevant professional qualification ( eg MCIPS ) or have a degree education or significant procurement experience. You will have knowledge of best practice in IT Category Management and appropriate frameworks, and be aware of trends and the anticipated future direction of IT Contract and Supplier management

You will have strong negotiation skills and a proven record in cost reduction.
