As the Planning Manager you will develop and maintain processes and behaviours that generate the product plan, implementing of key elements of operation by profiling correct inventory levels at key distribution points to meet the sales demand and generation of efficient factory production and transfer plans and supporting the business through the use of effective planning modelling tools and techniques.

Description

The key duties and responsibilities of the Manufacturing Planning Manager will include:

  • Delivery of a high level of OTIF (on time in full) product availability to agreed standards
  • Control of inventory volume & value to agreed targets
  • Communication of the above across the business and implementation of actions to continuously improve its result
  • Coordinate and deliver the monthly demand planning process in line with divisional S&OP agreed methods
  • Ensure that the sales forecast is met by the introduction of planning techniques and methods to generate annualised production capacity/capability proposals by product and factory, for acceptance by the business as production forecasts
  • Responsible for timely production to ensure total product availability in line with the agreed sales forecast through effective management review monitor and control processes.
  • Through effective planning enable the business to reduce cost of annual stock holdings, stock losses caused by aged product and minimise the cost of transfers.
  • Generating sound plans that maximise effectiveness of labour, production lines and shift outputs.
  • Implement control methods to ensure inventory accuracy on a monthly basis.
  • Use of the Performance Management system to monitor, evaluate and improve the performance of individuals within the team.

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience of developing and managing strong relationships with end-users, senior stakeholders
  • Specialist process and/or manufacturing optimisation techniques e.g. Six Sigma / Kaizen / other
  • Understanding and demonstrable proficiency in S&OP processes and techniques
  • Understanding of project management that allows basis sensible of time related discussions on projects
  • Experience in the support and delivery of divisional S&OP processes & procedures.
  • Ability to manage the availability of defined SKU's and managed stock levels by product group and by business unit
