This role sits within one of the key commodities within Electrical Purchasing. The position requires stakeholder engagement at many levels within Jaguar Land Rover and with external suppliers. You'll be responsible for organising a number of high-value commodities, with impact across several key functions within the business. A varied skill set will be required due to the speciality of the commodities being purchased.
Your role will require a high level of interaction internally, as well as a continual flow of high-level communication with the supply base and overseas factories. You'll be responsible for enabling the purchase and supply chain of global production for specified projects through negotiated costs with suppliers while delivering class-leading value to the business.
In your role, you'll lead daily meetings with the customer to provide update on project progress, and you'll also be involved in leading discussions with different areas of Jaguar Land Rover to define electrical requirements and gather information relevant to each project. This role will also allow you to work with part manufacturers.
You'll need to take appropriate action to resolve any issues which may arise, which will include engaging the relevant service providers and ensuring that they meet set requirements. Based on set key performance indicators, you'll own and update all project documents and issue reports to seniors.
The role will involve significant internal and external exposure up to and including senior management, and as such it would suit applications from those with significant career aspirations.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you'll need strong buying and negotiating expertise with previous experience of a purchasing or other commercial negotiation environment. A strong project management background, business acumen, and analytical skills will be expected. You'll have experience in supplier relationship management with excellent communication skills and possess the ability to converse at all levels of the organisation and with external suppliers and customers. An understanding of cost drivers in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
