An entry level Buyer position available with a leading Electronics Manufacturer in Crawley, West Sussex…

My client is looking to expand their team and give an exciting opportunity for a confident and ambitious individual to take their first step to a successful Buying career.

This is an ideal position for someone who has experience of working within an office/corporate environment, and wants to move up from an assistant position, into a role that gives more responsibility and workload management.

You will have excellent IT skills, along with a confident communication manner and a good attention to detail.  This position sits within a small but supportive Buying team, a very fast paced and dynamic environment. You will manage purchase orders and supply chain activity.

You will ensure timely delivery of all material ordered by the purchasing team and carry out tactical purchase order requirements to ensure production is fully supported.

Responsibilities:

•               Process all order acknowledgments.

•               Progress chase open order lines, amend dates as required.

•               Purchase lines as per MRP when allocated.

•               Proactively identify job shortages and pass on to the appropriate colleague for mitigation.

•               Maintain purchasing system data, e.g. supplier profiles, part pack sizes and lead times.

•               Support accounts with invoice queries when required.

•               Monitor and chase short shipments.

•               Chase rejects

•               Re-schedule orders as required through the MRP system.

•               Aid stores in booking in queries.

Skills required:

•               Confident communicator

•               Ability to prioritise

•               Well organised

•               Self-driven

•               Attention to detail

•               Effective working within a team.

•               Comfortable working independently when required.

•               Computer literate and good level of MS office applications e.g. Outlook, Excel etc.

•               Demonstrate a passion for their quality of work.
