Location: Runcorn / Reading / Leeds / London

Hours:  Full time 37.5 hours per week

Job Ref: 990-NHSE7730C

The Commercial Medicines Unit (CMU) is a national medicines procurement function based in NHS England’s Specialised Commissioning team.  Our key aims are to deliver efficiencies for the NHS in the procurement of medicines, initiate procurement projects and support the Department of Health's purchasing for safety agenda for medicines.  We ensure an efficient and effective supply chain for medicines from suppliers to the patient.

We have a number of exciting opportunities that have arisen within the Branded Medicines and Blood Products teams for Procurement Officers. You will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an agreed work plan of robust pharmaceutical framework agreements for NHS Secondary Care Trusts. These vacancies are based within our medicines procurement teams.

You will have CIPS / ICCM or equivalent experience, ideally within a public sector procurement organisation, have a high level of stakeholder engagement expertise and will be used to working on multiple projects in a fast paced complex environment. You will also have excellent project management and IT skills, in particular full Office Suite. In addition, you will have strong influencing skills to work with our critical supplier base and our key stakeholders.

Please note, if the advertised role is based in London on an Agenda for Change Pay Band, it will attract a High Cost Area Supplement.

If you have the ability and enthusiasm to join our team, the job description and person specification includes further important information on this exciting role.

Applications must be made on line via the TRAC, jobs.nhs.uk site, the organisation’s recruitment webpage.  Further information including a full Job Description and person specification, reference guidelines, I.D. Guidance and a link to apply on line can be viewed at:
