Interim Global IT Category Manager - FTSE 100 FMCG Organisation - west London - £600 per day

A world leading, FTSE 100 listed, FMCG Company is urgently looking to recruit an Interim Global IT Category Manager to support a global Technology transformation. This role (reporting directly to the Global Category Director) will be accountable for all IT subcategories (Software, Infrastructure, Networks, Applications and Mobile) and will lead a team based in different geographical locations.

As IT Category Manager you will be directly responsible for the procurement of the IT Software and Services category. You will be tasked with devising and driving the implementation of Global Category Strategies to a more regional and local category in order to maximise total cost savings and procurement value. As the Global IT Category Manager you must have experience in the full end to end procurement process from strategic planning to execution, across multiple IT subcategories.

Your responsibilities as IT Category Manager will include:

  • Support Global Category Director in the development of regional category sourcing and negotiation strategies
  • Manage the procurement strategy implementation and sourcing execution for regional and local categories.
    • Working closely with the Global Category Team as a member of a cross-functional sourcing team
    • Maintain excellent customer and supplier relationships and lead the supplier selection and negotiations
  • To lead contract implementation and drive contract compliance and payment terms
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
  • Manage a geographically diverse procurement team

The skills and competencies required for the IT Category Manager position are:

  • An extensive knowledge of the spend area at hand and substantial professional experience within the IT Procurement category in an international environment
  • A strong competency in the analysis of Spend & Demand, Specification, Supply Market & Competitors and the Value Chain & Total Cost.
  • Previous team management is a must have for this role.
  • A track record of implementing Value Identification and Risk Management & Sustainability strategies
  • A proven ability in negotiation, tendering and value engineering
  • Valid UK/EU Passport and a willingness to travel internationally for work
  • Strong academic background with a degree from an accredited institution is essential.
  • CIPS Qualification is preferred, but not essential
