Our residents trust us to deliver high quality, value for money services every day, across our borough. In today’s financial climate, it’s a bigger challenge than ever. That’s why we need an imaginative Contracts & Supply Manager to help us build the best possible links with partners. Think creatively, and you could make your mark within the Council and the wider industry.
This is a great opportunity to develop our approach to contract management. We want you to establish best practice and make sure it’s applied across the Council. You’ll develop contract management framework including a suite of documents, tools and resources, and then work with our departments to get the agreed model implemented. An authority in your field and a champion of high standards, you’ll provide crucial support for the Procurement team and any staff negotiating with suppliers.
MCIPS-qualified, you’ll be an expert in supplier and contract management. You could have gained your experience in the public or private sector. Whatever your background, you’ll have a track record of improving processes and ways of working through innovative approaches. And in addition, you’ll be an excellent stakeholder manager, with impressive communication skills. Able to formulate strategies, apply commercial acumen and lead contractual negotiations, you’ll be degree-educated (or equivalent) and keen to make an impact.
Join us, and you can expect a range of benefits including pension, flexible working, season ticket loan, childcare vouchers and discounts with retailers. We’ll also give you every opportunity to build an exciting career through our development opportunities.
