The Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) is an education charity committed to providing access to education and learning for adults from all backgrounds, in particular those who have previously missed out on education. Over 100 years old, the WEA is today the UK’s largest voluntary provider of adult learning.
We are currently looking to recruit a highly proactive and dynamic Procurement Officer to join the WEA. The post holder will be responsible for developing and implementing both strategic and operational purchasing processes, tools and techniques across the whole Association and could be based at any of our regional offices across the country.
Full time Procurement Officer
Permanent, full time, 35 hours/week.
Salary Grade D £29,865, rising to £34,129 p.a.
Main duties: Develop and implement the Association’s procurement and purchasing policies and strategy to ensure effective, efficient and economic procurement solutions which enable the WEA to obtain maximum savings, benefits and value for money from all externally purchased goods, works and services.
The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience and knowledge of procurement and purchasing; be a member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent; be qualified to NVQ level 3; and have good organisational and communication skills.
