The jobholder is a key member of the team ensuring an efficient service level is maintained in line with the customer's expectations.
The jobholder needs to ensure the team is highly motivated and working in accordance with legal and company procedures.
The jobholder will need to work closely with team members, warehouse operations and the customer, and must be able to work with a flexible team approach.
The jobholder needs to ensure that practices are carried out in line with the individual Ts and Cs promoting good industrial relations
5. DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
Counselling of team members, investigating situations and disciplinary action up to Written warning stage.
Lead by example resolve any issues on a day to day basis and investigate all grievances in line with company policy.
Raising of quotes for commercial team, including sign-off.
Educated to GCSE or equivalent level
Qualification in English and Maths
Experience of supervising / managing a team
Experience of working in a transport environment and full knowledge of transport legislation
Cost / budgetary control of department
Experience of disciplinary and grievance procedures
Ability to communicate at all levels
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to work to deadlines
Awareness of Transport and Health and safety legislation
Attention to detail, driven by continual improvement and high personnel standards
Team leader leading by example
Team builder who is approachable, open, fair and consistent
Motivates and develops others through controlled delegation
Flexible approach, able to embrace change and accept responsibility
Numerate and accurate

£30,000 - £32,000
Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
