Location: Calgary, Canada
Rate: Circa $70,000 CAD plus excellent benefits
Our global manufacturing client currently require an experienced procurement professional to generate significant value for the organisation by reducing the total cost of bought in goods or services and increase the overall value derived from the Supply Chain.
Using these principles and detailed market knowledge relating to the Industry specifically within Canada, you will ensure that the business trading position is able to answer the cost and supply demands of the business now and for future growth.
To enable the strategy delivery, using category, industry and market knowledge produce opportunity analyses to illustrate commercial opportunity and produce detailed implementation plans to reduce costs and deliver agreed savings, efficiencies and added value.
To ensure that the organization has adequately and securely passed through the Supply Chain any or all commercial risk generating from Client contractual conditions.
Using models such as Partnerships, Joint Ventures, Alliancing, etc. ensure that the most effective Procurement model is used for current and future business.
Analyse and produce cost reports that detail the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). TCO versus spend analysis to be undertaken as part of opportunity analysis.
Ensure that the trading arrangements commercially are fit for purpose, in place and performance managed through a robust contract management process or other appropriate method.
To manage and produce regular performance metrics in the form of a Balanced Scorecard for the following: Category, Supplier & individual KPI’s
To negotiate with Suppliers to deliver best terms and cost models appropriate to the business requirements for that project.
Drive product, price and process innovation wherever appropriate within the supply base to ensure organizational competitive advantage and optimize profit.
Where appropriate keep detailed analysis of commodity prices including (but not limited to) Steel, Copper, Aluminium, Oil and Rubber) pre-warning the organization of any significant changes.
Skills & Experience:
Asset Management experience. Preferably Mechanical / Heavy Equipment
Contract writing/drafting and Commercial Law
Good communication/stakeholder management skills
MS Office package, particularly excel
RFI, RFQ, RFP and tendering processes
Degree or equivalent
Large scale project implementation
Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction and / or distribution industry experience
