Want a leadership procurement role with social purpose?
Are you a dynamic and experienced procurement leader looking for your next challenge? Find out about working for Plymouth Community Homes as their head of strategic procurement.
Plymouth Community Homes (PCH) is a major force in the South West social and affordable housing market. Located in modern and attractive offices, our Crownhill HQ offers an exciting and collaborative working environment with great facilities including multiple breakout areas and a staff gym.
We are currently looking for a head of strategic procurement to oversee all our procurement activities across our extensive range of activity.
Multi-million pound refurbishment
From our headquarters we manage and maintain some 16,000 properties across Plymouth which are home to some 45,000 people and centred in now thriving communities. This is thanks to a multi-million pound programme of refurbishment, and major new build developments, which have transformed the look of Plymouth and the lives of our residents.
Working with developers and contractors we will continue our programme of regeneration into the future to provide much needed homes, and to change the face of this great city which is becoming firmly established as Britain’s gateway to the Atlantic.
Fantastic place to live and work
Besides having a fantastic place to live and work, staff at PCH can be proud of the hard work and dedication they give in providing a fantastic, award winning, service to our residents. This success has been built on the sheer professionalism of a wide range of disciplines and functions and is supported by a substantial and accredited learning and development programme.
A clear social purpose
Of course PCH is a charitable organisation with an ambition to be a leading, growing, independent housing association with a clear social purpose providing homes and services people want and can afford, as outlined in our recent Strategic Business Plan. Some of our residents are particularly vulnerable and we offer support to them and their communities in many ways and at a variety of levels.
Employer of choice
Whilst we are naturally sensitive to these needs and situations, we also recognise that our organisation is built on, and for, people. This means we have deliberately set out to be an employer of choice in the region through a Valuing Our People strategy which has resulted in both Silver, and now Gold, IIP accreditation earned because of the way we reward and motivate our staff.
But that’s not all that sets PCH apart from other employers...
PCH has its own factory - a rare advantage in the housing sector
We have our own factory, a rare advantage in the housing sector. Separately situated in the busy industrial hub of Plymouth, PCH Manufacturing has been home to a highly skilled production base for decades. Here our craftspeople provide high quality bespoke engineering and manufacturing solutions for our homes and other property assets.
Growing commercial market
We also have a growing commercial market throughout the South West to private homeowners, businesses, landlords and developers. We’ve made, supplied, and fitted thousands of windows, doors and other home improvement products such as joinery, metalwork and artwork and signs to literally thousands of social housing tenants. We’ve also worked with businesses and private homeowners with a great track record in customer satisfaction. Our employees are polite, trustworthy and committed to providing the highest standards of customer service.
Investing in the community
All profits we make are invested back into the community through our parent company. This includes developing new affordable housing for families on lower incomes looking to take their first steps onto the property ladder and more social housing for those looking for long-term, affordable homes to rent.
So, if you buy from PCH Manufacturing, you really are helping to give something back to the community!
