Reporting to the Operations Manager - The role is to Manage the team on the shift in all aspects of the daily shift operation in a cost effective and productive manner, whilst ensuring that Service is in line with Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicator targets. Along with ensuring that Health & Safety and Housekeeping is managed, Company Policies and Procedures are complied with. Managing Staff attendance. Performance and development.The shift on this role is 4PM TO 12AM

Support all Company and Site Policies & Procedures
Manage the shift's sort and distribution process to maintain and improve accuracy of the sort by challenging issues and identifying and implementing solutions.
Provide cover for the Operations Manager when not on site or available, when required
Manage cost within the shift by controlling overtime and by identifying cost efficiencies
Encourage and promote positive employee relations throughout the team.
Conducting daily staff briefings to feedback on issues and areas of improvement to raise KPI awareness and drive improved performance. .
Maintain best operational practices through management of the SOP's and the Lean Management techniques.
To actively drive a high standard of health and safety within the site Linked to the Site Health & Safety Officer.
To manage the roll out of new products and processes within the shift
Conducting productivity reviews by Championing Lean Management Techniques and The Excellence Model
To actively promote and encourage a "Can Do" attitude and approach within the team.
Drive and improve multi skill training within the team through staff performance, training and productivity reviews
Produce and Submit Site and Group Reports as instructed
Conducting staff appraisals

The shift on this role is 4PM TO 12AM


Previous experience in Managing staff preferred
Previous experience in the Mail or Distribution industry
Ability to work on own initiative and results driven
Ideas driven and ability to formulate new methods to improve the operation
Able to analyse data and reports and produce trend analysis
Able to produce progress reports in a concise manner
Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook
Will be required to Influence positive safety behaviours
Will be required to ensure compliance of safety procedures
