LOCATION: Coventry, West Midlands

Every product. Every process. Every environment. Our vehicles continually set the benchmark for luxury, innovation and performance thanks to our unrivalled commitment to infinite detail. Join us within our Purchasing teams, and you'll be the driving force behind it all.

The Supplier Risk team is a function within Purchasing Transformation and Operations tasked with monitoring the financial and operational stability of suppliers to Jaguar Land Rover. Your role will require a high level of interaction internally as well as a heavy continual flow of high level of communication with external parties. The role is strategic, starting at the sourcing stage, and continuing through to supplier assessment via regular credit rating and other reviews whilst parts are in production.

The team also monitors a sub-set of suppliers for Special Vehicle Operations, Non- Production and Aftermarket. The key objective is to use triggers to proactively analyse the risks faced by suppliers based on their status (for example supplying run-out models) or their location (for example based on current local economic conditions) and use that to minimise the risk of parts supply being disrupted by insolvency or other credit risks. "At risk" suppliers are identified and buyers are engaged as and when necessary. Pro-active business partnering ensures that buyers consider the appropriate actions required to mitigate the risk of disruption to the production line, and in the event of a supplier administration, technical advice is provided for whichever location that supplier is in.

In your role, you'll report "at risk" suppliers to Purchasing Senior Management on an ad hoc basis as required and at the monthly REDS meeting, which will also involve preparing the agenda, managing the meeting and issuing minutes as well as actions. To help mitigate risk, you'll work with cross-functional teams to make clear and effective decisions as well as working with buyers. It will come under your remit to guide buyers at times of supplier distress (administration), ensuring that the correct procedures are followed and that all parties are up to date with developments. In addition, you'll lead in the preparation and updating of training material, assist in the presentation and provide support in the delivery of the Supplier Risk training to buyers. Finally, you'll be tasked with undertaking supplier financial review at the sourcing stage, using records from Companies House (and overseas equivalents), credit rating providers and suppliers' own data.

You'll be expected to have previously worked within a project management and continuous improvement environment, and you'll come to this role with excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills. You'll have the confidence to present to Senior Management and cross-functional groups, and you'll need good business collaborating and communication capabilities along with the ability to maintain a high level of focus and to both read and manipulate financial data.

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you'll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and a performance-related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.

Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
