Lead Category Manager - Construction (2 year FTC)
Do you have a demonstrable track record of developing, delivering & implementing strategic procurement plans - focused on cost reduction & total cost of ownership models within the Construction/Property category? If so then we would like to hear from you.
Our client, a prominent & highly commercial Public Sector services organisation in London is looking to appoint a Category Lead – Construction/Property/Estates who has experience of delivering major/complex construction procurements and demand challenges in a complex operational environment
•Strong Procurement understanding and knowledge of standard sourcing methodologies as well as industry standard forms of contract (JCT).
•Expert Property Category knowledge with demonstrable experience of having delivered large Construction and Estates procurement projects.
•Demonstrable track record of high value, high impact added value contribution.
•Ability to project personal impact and credibility at all levels of the organisation and the external market
•Able to deliver significant corporate change in a planned and resilient manner
•Strong leadership across a multi-department arena
•Able to build collaborative partnerships
•Ability to generate effective solutions to complex problems
•Politically and commercially astute with an ability to develop networks both within the organisation and externally
•Able to engage with users to understand requirements and effectively question and challenge them acting as a “critical friend”
•Ideally an understanding of public sector procurement e.g., use of OJEU to issue tenders conducting of competitive dialogue etc
•Understanding of Contract Management (CM) and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) processes
•Strong project management capabilities gained through practical professional experience
•Graduate/Post qualification. MBA desirable
Due to the nature of the organisation and its Security Vetting, all candidates MUST be eligible to work in the UK, have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
