Category Manager required to join a successful Procurement & Supplier Management team within a customer focused Financial Services organisation in Edinburgh. With the key stakeholders and decision makers based in Edinburgh, you will have the opportunity to work as a partner with the business and be involved with projects from inception.
Your new role
As a Category Manager, you will develop and deliver high value sourcing and category strategies that drive best value and minimise risk to the organisation. You will contribute to the overall procurement & supplier management savings target by identifying opportunities that improve value for money and efficiency and will ensure that projects are run to timescales, budgets and compliance. You will build strong relationships with the key stakeholders within IT and will manage key suppliers to the business, such as IBM.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will have a demonstrable track record of delivering procurement projects utilising strategic sourcing and category management methodologies. You will have a track record of savings which have been achieved through negotiation and supplier management. You will be a credible and innovative thinker with strong communication skills. IT procurement experience would be of benefit, indirect procurement experience is essential.
