Permanent Assistant Procurement Manager

Our client, one of the leading employers in Birmingham is recruiting for an Assistant Procurement Manager to support the Corporate Procurement Manager in the delivery of major procurement projects across the end-to-end life cycle from establishing the need through to contract award and effective handover to the contract management team.

Duties and Responsibilities;

The Assistant Procurement Manager will produce procurement sourcing strategies for their specific projects and are responsible for assisting the development and on-going continuous improvement of the procurement tools and templates required by the Corporate Procurement Team. In addition the Assistant Procurement Manager is responsible for supporting the Corporate Procurement Manager with developing the documentation and uploading to the e-procurement tool. The Assistant Procurement Manager must provide monthly reports to the Corporate Procurement Manager which evidence successful delivery of projects.

Corporate Procurement Team cover all the procurements required to support the business, spending approximately £350m per annum via around 350 procurement exercises. The sourcing process for which
corporate procurement are responsible includes but is not limited to the following activities:

  • Stakeholder mapping;
  • Stakeholder Management;
  • Contract review;
  • Review scopes of work;
  • Review the market;
  • Collate demand requirements;
  • Manage all Governance requirements for successful contract award; and
  • Setting up and administering support for Bravo and AWARD procurement systems.
