Graduate Buyer - FTSE100 Retailer - £22k - Fast-Track Progression Opportunities - Leicester - Global Sourcing Exposure

An excellent opportunity has been made available for an ambitious individual looking to progress their career in procurement by joining a global FTSE100 and developing in line with their company values and global brand-name. With increasing spends during the course of the transformation, the successful buyer will be working across various business units and consistently gaining increased responsibility to ensure best-in-class training for future progression opportunities, in a role that is geared towards a promotion into a category specialist role within 12 months.

Graduate Buyer Role Profile:

  • The opportunity to work with key suppliers and stakeholders, building and maintaining relationships and learning the art of successful procurement negotiation
  • Working with senior management, to drive the success of the procurement function and ensure upmost operational efficiency and value for money, on every level
  • Exposure to working with leading procurement systems and ensuring that the business remains one step ahead of the game, when it comes to innovations and process
  • Thorough research into specific procurement categories- to ensure that all areas are covered

Key Skills & Experience Sought:

  • Strong numerate skills, including experience working with Excel and data analytics tools (this can be gained at university)
  • Bachelor's degree or above from a leading university (desirable), ideally with a 2:1, 1st class degree or equivalent degree from an international university
  • Some previous purchasing / procurement experience would be ideal, which could be gained in a post graduate procurement buyer role or as part of a work placement
  • Energetic, proactive personality and keen to develop a career in procurement
  • Keen to learn, take on responsibility and progress quickly
