This could be your most important procurement role yet. It is sure to be the most fascinating.

The strategies you shape, the advice you give and the decisions you make will span unique and diverse categories. Your team might be involved in calling-off everything from 3D crime scene reconstruction, to video transcription services, to IT services and Office Solutions. The suppliers you engage, whose performance you’ll manage, will include routine supplies and technical experts. Ultimately, you will ensure all manner of criminal justice cases get the support necessary to make sure justice is done.

The Crown Prosecution Service is the largest law organisation in the UK. We prosecute all criminal cases in England and Wales – from burglary to fraud, drug trafficking and terrorism. Our work is of vital importance to the whole nation. When it comes to procuring goods and services, it is crucial to secure quality and value for money for the taxpayer. That’s where you come in.

As a Senior Digital Commercial Analyst you will manage commercial activities across the full spectrum of acquisition. We will look to you to develop procurement and contracting strategies, compile tenders, place and manage contracts. You will solve complex problems, develop a high performing team, provide insightful commercial advice, and drive ongoing improvements. Along the way, you’ll work closely with colleagues, suppliers, other government departments and external bodies.

We are seeking people with a strong procurement background in public sector contracting who are familiar with contract structures and terms and who can demonstrate practical application of procurement learning.   We use Crown Commercial Service frameworks wherever we can but run our own frameworks and contracts where we need to.  You’ll need to be a succinct communicator across the full range of media and willing to engage fully with stakeholders and suppliers to develop specifications, guide evaluators and moderate scoring, negotiate to agreement - as well as administering contract variations.  You will also have experience in contract management and performance management duties, understand commercial processes including financial and invoicing procedures and have the ability to analyse Management Information for your specified portfolio. You will have, or be willing to study for, a CIPS qualification

Our team develops its people: 80% of the team are on a professional development programme, seven members have had promotion success in the last year, and we have two apprentices working with us learning the ropes.  We sponsor professional studies, offer management development, operate a flexible working scheme and a contributory pension scheme.
