Financial Services - dynamic and forward-thinking company.

This role is essentially the number 2 in the function reporting directly to the Head of Procurement. The team is quite junior and there are many greenfield areas. Covers all areas of spend and operations.

You will need to be able to motivate and mentor a team of three junior staff whilst maintaining a handle on the day-to-day BAU (rolling your sleeves up) and looking at opportunities to improve the ways of working within the organisation. E.g. the pipeline of opportunities - be they cost savings, process improvements, risk mitigation etc.

Things like:

Vendor Management and Contract Negotiation

  • Negotiate measurable contract terms which maximise value  whilst minimising risks
  • Make use of a wide range of pricing structures to manage risk and incentivise performance against the contract
  • Deliver best value through intelligent negotiation strategies
  • Manage ongoing delivery versus contract terms through regular vendor management meetings.  Define remediation plans and enact penalties where KPIs are not met

Develop Strategic Partnerships

  • Negotiate preferential rates for goods and services with a smaller number of more strategic suppliers

Evaluate Value and Manage Waste

  • Through analysis, benchmarking and otherwise, identify the value and costs driven through business decisions
  • Through logical business cases, influence Business Stakeholders to make logical changes which eliminate waste and drive more value

Manage Purchasing Function

  • Manage a team of 3 staff managing purchasing, including

- Supplier KYC and take-on processes

- Purchase order through delivery to invoice tracking

- Tracking of upcoming licence renewals

  • Reconcile invoices against deliverables/platform data sources

Requirements:

  • Significant Procurement experience including IT & non-IT
  • Leadership capabilities
  • Strategic thinking
  • First class stakeholder engagement and management
  • Experience of working within a customer centric business
  • Previous experience of working within a highly regulated environment and/or the ability to demonstrate an understanding of Financial Regulatory Bodies (including FCA and PRA) approach to regulation and the considerations we are required to take within the business surrounding Conduct Risk and TCF
  • Previous experience and the ability to demonstrate how to embed a customer centric culture within a business
  • Previous experience and the ability to demonstrate how to identify, measure and mitigate potential customer risks within a business.
