Head of Procurement - Projects

The role location is flexible - Can be based in Birmingham or Sheffield, but there will be a reasonable amount of travel.

A major FM Services provider are looking for a Head of Procurement - Projects to secure Nationwide Supplier Partner Agreements that contribute to the profitability and overall mapping of our third-party activity.

You will be responsible for delivering of a "go to market" procurement strategy for Projects delivery and new business pursuits. With a revenue of over £3bn and external spend of circa 50%.

Your responsibilities are Enterprise wide where you would be expected to establish excellent working relationships with all Managing Directors and the Projects Leadership Team. As the Head of Procurement you will become a trusted advisor and the go-to person between the UKI Projects stakeholders and the wider Procurement team.


  • Ensuring all Project Procurement activities meets our customers' specific needs whilst following best Procurement practice
  • Engage with the Senior Leadership Team to identify savings and other value-adding activities (e.g. supporting self-delivery or identifying reciprocal trade. The Head of Procurement is responsible for the delivery of savings and for partnering with FD to agree and track savings realisation into budget.
  • Providing full visibility to the Senior Leadership Team of all appropriate Procurement reports of spend, savings, compliance and more as available by working closely with the Procurement Support Function
  • Have a thorough understanding of the UKI bid pipeline, Projects, mobilisation, transition, business-as-usual and de-mobilisation landscape at any given time; in addition to providing management and leadership to all Procurement resources within their area of responsibility, build a cross functional procurement team.

Essential Experience

  • Proven track record in Procurement and Contracts Management
  • Projects Management experience
  • Working knowledge and delivery of JCT, NEC and FIDIC, Contract Management, contracting and highly complex projects within Real Estate, Construction and Total Facilities Management
  • Stakeholder management and influencing
  • MCIPS (or equivalent)

  • Ability to lead a team and inspire confidence and work with high degree of variability
  • Highly motivated and self-aware
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
