The Category Lead based in Yorkshire, Wakefield nr Leeds

Â

At all times supporting the aim of the clients and organisations commercial objectives

Â

Provide strategic leadership, direction, innovation and governance across the procurement, commercial contract and supplier management activities in order to deliver value for money and efficiency targets, whilst ensuring effective risk management, business continuity and quality of support with a customer focus

Â

Lead, develop and manage an effective and efficient commercial program to support a wide and varied range of NHS projects with in their supply chain.

Â

Develop and implement a strategy to deliver commercial procurement advice and support to clients across the NHS who are undertaking cost improvement work.

Â

Support the client in their role as project manager and advise on and promote effective commercial/procurement activities.

Â

Ensure that at all time that there is proper compliance with the Commercial, Procurement Strategy and Standing Orders, Intelligent Client Model, Financial Regulations, European and UK Legislation on procurement.

Â

Utilise, analyse and extrapolate complex information sources (e.g. data extracts, reports, financial models, contracts etc) in order to provide practical commercial options, advice, guidance and action plans

Â

Lead a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers and ensure optimum performance of the team through objective setting, performance management, personal development plans, mentoring and coaching including the achievement of professional recognised qualifications where appropriate

Profile

Expert on all aspects of procurement processes, through experience and knowledge.

Apply judgement to determine how best to apply processes to secure best value in any particular set of circumstances.

Leads compliance to internal and legal frameworks/protocols for their teams and own work activities.

Ensure procurement activities for their team contribute to the Sustainability agenda.

Take the lead on procurement aspects as part of a cross-functional team

Experienced in negotiating high value contracts, commanding credibility and respect externally.

Direct and coach others, command credibility with internal departments, customers and suppliers
