Our client requires a Transport Manager to run their fast moving bulk haulage function in Radstock

Our client, based in Radstock, is a market leader across UK and wider Europe within Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain

Description

The role of Transport Manager will report into the Regional Operations Manager and will be responsible for a fleet of 32 vehicles and drivers. With control over fleet compliance, people management and a budget of over £3m, the responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the transport office in a challenging industry and busy environment
  • Develop, agree and manage the operation with respect to customer and company objectives via sound KPI
  • In tandem with the Regional Operations Manager produce business operating plans, with requisite financial plans and budgets, in line with the understood business objectives, to drive costs down and improve service
  • To ensure the correct level of resource is available to meet changing customer demands
  • Identify opportunities for and initiate Continuous Improvement projects
  • Optimise the utilisation of all assets of all assets across the operation
  • Ensure H&S management Best Practice is applied, and investigations and corrective actions are applied rigorously

    To be considered for the role of Transport Manager you will possess the following attributes:

  • A track history of working in Transport Manager positions
  • Have experience in managing, coaching and developing staff within a Transport office
  • Have managed a similar size fleet and driver count previously
  • Hold a Managers CPC (National or International)
  • Have a keen eye and passion for implementing changes
