The Category Manager in York is responsible for establishing, coordinating and managing more effective procurement arrangements on behalf of stakeholders, utilisating cost reduction, cost avoidance and demand aggregation opportunities.

Develop, manage and maintain a suite of procurement categories / spend areas for stakeholders and manage the full procurement process from cradle to grave including; sourcing, tendering and contract management. The Category Manager will manage procurement projects on indirect goods and services.
Have several years purchasing experience
Creating category management and category sourcing plans
Be experienced in the tendering and management of a broad range of commodities
Previous management information experience and production of management reports
Reporting / analytical experience. Advanced spreadsheet skills and the ability to use financial models to present efficiency performance
