  • Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Coordinate cross-functional discussion to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Interact with sales, marketing, and customer replenishment to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Utilise a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organisation in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning


The sucessful candidate (AS A MINIMUM) will already be working within a Demand Planning role or will have finished a position recently. They will be up to date with current supply chain trends in process improvement and techniques. They will be incredibly systems literate (ERP/MRP + Forecasting Module) and posess excellent excel skills.

Requirement in detail:

Essential: - Previously worked in a demand planning function in FMCG. Preferably in a dynamic, growth environment.


Preferred: - Degree level


Preferred - APICS or another forecasting Certification


Demonstrated proficiency in forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts. Knowledge of forecasting / demand planning systems / software and statistical models.

Skilled other software packages including Windows, and Microsoft Office. This position requires strong analytical, organisational, decision making, and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact / influence all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecasting process. Good facilitation skills are required.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a positive "Can do" attitude, a continuous improvement mind-set, collaboration, teamwork, accountability, the ability to influence and ownership.
