An experienced, Depot Manager is required to manage a large parts depot for a Global Automotive Giant. The depot is based in Southern France; your remit will be to ensure the on time supply of high quality Parts and Accessories throughout the southern region of Europe satisfying over 7000 orders a day.

As Depot Manager, you will need to drive strategy as well as be a strong people manager with a clear customer focus. You will need to be independent, self-starter with a hands-on approach to the role. Ideally you will have come from an automotive or manufacturing / fast paced environment, although the role is open to individuals that have the necessary skills derived in other industries. However you must have experience of steering logistics operations in a structured and unionised environment.  

THE DEPOT MANAGER ROLE:

The role encompasses all aspects and ownership of the daily management of a stand-alone operation - Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost and includes Facility Maintenance, Legal Compliance, Finance, and HR.   You will be managing a team of 50 that operates Monday to Friday.  

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • A significant number of years’ experience in logistics and/or shop floor management (preferably automotive or within a fast paced environment)
  • Ideally university degree or equivalent.
  • Must speak fluent French and English

  Technical knowledge:

  • Understanding of technical infrastructure of building and equipment

  Breadth of expertise:

  • Extensive experience in shop floor and office people management
  • Budget planning and control experience
  • Proven understanding and implementation of Supply Chain Management and Lean 6-Sigma / continuous improvement principles / projects
  • Fast paced warehouse operations experience
