The client who I am currently working with are looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant with experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment. The role will also involve supporting all site purchasing activities required to manufacture products on time whilst ensuring that the company achieves best value for money and meeting the demands of Operations and other functions.

Client Details

Due to improved growth over the past 2 years UK manufacturing has recently moved location to their new sited based in Sheffield. This facility will be the Business unit for all products sold around the world and will provide the scope to increase output of current production and see the implementation of new products and processes. To help sustain growth they are looking at recruiting a Purchasing Assistant on a temporary basis to join their already established team.

Description

We are currently looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant with experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment. The role will also involve supporting all site purchasing activities required to manufacture products on time whilst ensuring that the company achieves best value for money and meeting the demands of Operations and other functions The main tasks of this position are listed below:

  • Monitoring of system stock levels against minimum, maximum and reorder levels
  • Procuring parts within tight deadlines and cost constraints

  • Liaising with Stores/Production department

  • Progress chasing to prevent part shortages

  • Providing purchasing support to suppliers

  • Raising purchase orders for all production components

  • Supplying delivery documentation for inbound shipments to goods inwards where required

  • Ensure Senior Buyer and other relevant members of team are informed of any supply chain issues

  • At all times maintain strict confidentiality regarding both supplier and company activity and

    information generally.

  • A high level of attention to detail and due diligence

  • Confidence and competence in interpreting data within an MRP system

  • Proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and change management

  • A natural problem solver

  • Good communicator across all levels

  • Experience of working within a busy purchasing department in a manufacturing/engineering

    environment

  • Knowledge of Microsoft products and use of Navision/SAP
