Would you like to work for a market leader in the field of supplying and supporting the Professional Audio, Video and Broadcast industries? Do you have experience of Direct Procurement?

Due to an exciting period of expansion our client is currently seeking a Buyer to support their growing business in leading and optimising the sourcing of components and materials used within their production facility, and for onward distribution or re-sale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the procurement of services, equipment and goods for the business
• Compare costs, quality and service to ensure the business sources the most appropriate solution
• Keep up to date with market trends and support the identification and sourcing of new and ad-hoc products and components
• Build and maintain relationships with and then manage the performance of key suppliers
• Support the Commercial, Finance and Operational teams in the agreement of advantageous contracts with suppliers, including retrospective discounts and rebates
• Place and administer orders with named suppliers
• Liaise with operational teams in the monitoring of stock levels, demand, lead times, warranties etc
• Develop new routes to supply markets and proactively make recommendations accordingly
• Conduct key supplier reviews and analysis (minimum annually), implementing changes where necessary

Skills and Experience:

• Ideally educated to degree level, HND, HNC or BTEC in purchasing and / or supply chain management
• At least 3 years' experience in a transactional purchasing role within a commercial environment dealing with tangible products
• Well organised with good attention to detail. Strong analytical reasoning and planning skills- you must be methodical and logical
• Good working knowledge of purchase ledger, budgets, finances and contracts
• Good IT skills (Excel). Experience of SAGE an advantage
• Good negotiation skills. Constructive yet tenacious approach to problem solving
