A senior procurement position within a leading FMCG business. This role will be managing 3 people and responsible for a spend of £80million across Europe.

  • Responsibility of setting and reaching challenging cost reduction targets across the team and their direct reports.
  • Develop and lead team, nurturing talent and use performance management where appropriate to uplift individual / team performance.
  • Developing and executing procurement category strategies for Core Category using 7-step Strategic Sourcing process delivering value across quality, service, risk, innovation and cost, with a spend responsibly of €60M to €80m.
  • Sourcing from European & Global markets as appropriate for current and NPD products and provide market knowledge and insight for responsible categories and countries.
  • Develop and grow the scope and influence of Procurement beyond its current boundaries working with other functions and marketing units to aggregate spend and deliver savings and efficiency's.
  • Develop the reputation of Procurement within the organisation through adopting a professional best practice approach
  • Benchmark current ways of working and leverage best practice from the 'outside in' to drive a programme of sustainable savings / supplier rationalisation / category management / support Growth (NPD)
  • Develop cost out sourcing projects to support annual procurement targets, utilising e-sourcing and other negotiation tools to drive positive Total Price Variances (TPV) / Purchasing Price Variance (PPV) to plans
  • Ensure alignment with other category lead buyers, working collaboratively in order to drive scale,


  • Proven track record of delivering strong Procurement interventions from supplier identification, selection, evaluation to management (strategic sourcing / category plans track record of delivery)
  • Proven experience of developing and leading a team, nurturing talent and using performance management where appropriate to uplift individual / team performance.
  • Experience of dealing with multi-functional cross business and cross-cultural teams through strong project management, influencing skills and commercial negotiation
  • An ability to build consensus and engagement with key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Proven experience of creating and articulating sourcing strategies that support specific business requirements, whilst at the same time challenge the status quo and leverages corporate scale and spending power (Commercial negotiation, contract and supplier management)
  • A proactive approach to building effective working relationships with business partners and their teams in order to effectively influence and manage key stakeholders

Job Offer

£60,000 - £65,000 plus package
