Product Manager Test and Measurement
Located in the highly prestigious St Peter’s Square development in the city centre, Distrelec are establishing their new Enterprise Hub and hiring a Product Manager.
The Enterprise Hub will be the European home of functions that deliver the selection and purchasing of products, inventory management, collaboration with suppliers and all of their online marketing and sales websites.
Distrelec, part of the Datwyler group, is a leading online distributor for electronics, automation, measurement technology, IT and accessories in Europe and the exciting new Enterprise Hub in Manchester will be its first operational presence in the UK.

In a relatively traditional industry, Distrelec are establishing an Enterprise Hub within the UK with a modern and unique approach to how they do business with their suppliers and customers.
As one of a team of Product Managers, you will develop and maintain the product assortment for a specific product area in line with overall category strategy. This will involve selecting new products to bring to market, owning the product lifecycle from NPI to EOL, defining NPI pricing strategy to drive market share gains and delivering sales and margin performance against agreed targets. The specific product areas include: Automation, Cable/Installation, Computing & Office, Connectors, Enclosure/Fans, Passives, Power & Optoelectronics, Semiconductors, Switches/Relays, Test & Measurement and Tools & Maintenance. Your input into supporting supplier value extraction through close partnership with the Supplier Managers ensures your contribution really does count.
Skills & experience:
Ideally degree educated in electrical engineering or digital marketing (or relevant technical or commercial area), you will have a background in supplier or product management or purchasing, with a technical knowledge of electronic or industrial components and distribution. You will also have experience of online marketing in a B2B or B2C distribution business where you have managed a variety of different product types and high number of suppliers. You will have the opportunity to use your knowledge of digital marketing techniques and must be proficient in the use of ERP systems and MS Office. Your financial acumen and understanding of pricing and how it impacts margin will be vital and your commercial market awareness will enable you to act upon market trend indicators, requiring excellent analytical skills to evaluate performance and interpret results. Without doubt you will have the ability to influence and persuade others and there will be close collaboration with most other areas of the business.
