Logistics Manager, Belper, £35,000 DOE

My client is a is a UK based company who focuses on the production, distribution and servicing of Carbon, Graphite and Magnesium based products to global industrial sectors including Aerospace, Defence and Steel. They are recognised in 30 countries spanning over six continents; with their focus to find the best solution for their customers and priding themselves on quality supplies and service excellence.

Your new role
As part of the Head Office Team, reporting into the Finance and Commercial Director, you will lead and motivate a small Logistics team to effectively manage the transportation of material and related documentation processes to various customers. You will help identify new transport solutions to ensure ongoing efficiency and cost effectiveness, and develop and maintain external freight forwarder and transport agent relationships. You will also have overall responsibility for the application of import and export licences so previous international import and export experience is essential.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need excellent communication skills as you will need to support, liaise and communicate with all UK and Overseas peers (using Skype) to maintain an effective and efficient transport, stock, manufacturing, delivery and sale processes. Strong management skills are imperative to deliver transport and logistics training, coaching and development to colleagues. Ultimately you will need to be accountable for your actions as you strive to ensure the provision of an excellent, customer focused, cost effective customer service where the majority of enquiries are dealt with at the first point of contact.
