An excellent job opportunity for a Buying Analyst to join an established FMCG company who supply to large supermarkets including Waitrose, Asda, Tesco and the co-op. They export internationally to over 50 countries, from its headquarters in mid Kent. The Company imports most of its product from India, Pakistan, America, and Thailand.
Your new job role
To support the strategic management of commodity purchases (and other goods and services), through effective data analysis, data mining, forecasting, excel programming and market research, with an objective to provide effective planning and supplier management. To build and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers and suppliers. To provide additional analytical support which would include customer profitability, cashflow assessment and risk identification in terms and conditions - linking closely with Finance and Sales teams.
Key main duties will be to provide timely and effective statistical data analysis to support the development of procurement strategy. Improve existing business processes through excel programming. Conduct market research, identifying price trends, major market influences and potential future market movements. Regularly attend and present market updates to various internal and external customers (including rice price movements, freight movements and forex movements). Negotiate prices for the supply of goods and services, ensuring best value for money (including commodities, IT contracts and packaging etc). Storage planning and third party raw material warehousing. Assess the risks and benefits of terms and conditions, advising the Business. Other projects and such tasks as and when required.
What you'll need to succeed
1st Class Honours University degree in a relevant subject. The role holder should be flexible, with an understanding of changing needs and being able to adapt to them. Advanced Excel skills. Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience. CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or working towards. Previously held experience in a commodity market.
What you'll get in return
An excellent salary of £30,000 - £33,000 per annum DOE. The hours are 37.5 per week, holidays are 28 days per annum including bank holidays, pension and life assurance
