Head of Procurement role for electronic manufacturing business based in South West London.

Your new company
My client are a leader in their specific field within the electronic manufacturing industry. They develop innovative technology that drives commercial opportunities for our clients in the OEM sector. Due to the development of their products and offerings, as they expand their team they also need to develop their Procurement and Supply Chain into a more robust, fit-for-purpose outfit

Your new role
As the Head of Procurement/Procurement Manager you will have full responsibility for the Direct and Indirect Procurement including all goods and services that are required for function. You will have to identify the best suppliers to partner with and lead those supplier negotiations to deliver total-cost optimisation. This role is very hands-on and they need someone who is a "doer" who can lead strategy, partnerships, and internal stakeholder engagement as well as the operational cost reports, maintaining purchase orders.
With Regards to the direct materials you will be getting into the nitty-gritty engineering specs for the products and be able to suggest alternative products if it will benefit cost, quality or lead-time reductions. You will also be responsible for leading correct stock levels, maintaining correct buffer stock levels, while not holding too much stock in storage.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you must be a natural leader, be well organised, and not afraid to work a hands-on procurement role within a technology manufacturing business. You will have significant experience sourcing goods and materials from international sources and have the flexibility to travel when required for this role. You will be familiar with import/export procedures and legislation and operating Supply Chains from the Far-East. In an ideal world you will be CIPS qualified, but this is not essential.

What you'll get in return
In return you will gain full responsibility over the procurement and supply chain of goods and services and directly impact the profitability of the business.
