Regional Plant & Transport Manager, £40k plus car, Midlands (need to be able to travel to various sites)

My client is the UK's leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions business. They have recently been taken over by another company and are in an exciting period of their life cycle.
Your new role
Your new role will be to contribute to the development of, and be regionally responsible for the effective delivery of the National Plant Strategy, plans and objectives. You will lead the regional mobile plant department and regional team of fitters to ensure standardised and effective maintenance programmes are in place, in accordance with the policies, processes and procedures developed by the National Plant & Transport Manager taking into account business capacity, margins, financial & contractual risk. You will contribute to the delivery of best practice and continuous improvements across the business and ensure full legal compliance with all elements of HGV operation and the companies operators licenses.
What you'll need to succeed
Ultimately you will need to have good organisational skills, experience in a transport (HGV & LCV) of heavy plant and equipment., and an understanding of basic engineering functions. Interrogation of data and analytical information is vital to ensure good utilisation and compliance along with being financially numerate. You will need strong motivational skills to have the ability to lead a team of mobile engineers remotely, coaching, organising and developing. You will need to ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are fully complied with so an IOSH qualification is essential, along with a CPC qualification for transport compliance.
What you'll get in return
