Procurement Heads is working with an established wholesale distributor that manufactures its own unique product range, earning them a reputable name in the market space.

The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for day to day efficient and cost effective management of the product Supply Chain. From demand planning, measurement and management of lead times to inbound logistics ensuring maximised cost efficiencies, quality and service levels are achieved.  As the Supply Chain Planner, your role and responsibilities will include:

  • Be hands on with the Demand and Supply Planning processes
  • Accountability for Inbound supply performance and freight budget
  • Lead the monthly planning process meeting with the sales team and internal departments to align on volume demands for the next 12 months
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless product supply
  • Driving and implementing projects to enhance Supply Chain performance and efficiency
  • Improve product availability
  • Support the recurring reviews on Excess, Obsolete and Aged stock, with analysis around volumes, margins, and key actions within Supply Chain and Sales/Marketing/Category teams
  • Managing the transport providers and forwarders, and organising cost effective shipping to our warehouse
  • Lead the development of daily/weekly/monthly reporting cycles, to help the commercial teams. This will include preparation for leadership meetings on a periodic basis
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
  • Establishing and maintaining a method of supplier assessment and scoring with feedback that encourages suppliers to improve, giving a basis for purchasing decisions
  • Contribute to a culture of change and process improvement

The ideal profile for this role:

  • Ideally a degree or equivalent qualification and proven experience within a retail supply chain environment (ideally 1-3 years)
  • Experience with ERP systems with excellent Demand and Supply Planning ability
  • High level of numeracy and advanced Excel skills
  • You will have strong problem-solving techniques that will be used to optimise Logistics processes. Ability to cut through complex data, to reach clear and simple conclusions
  • Be analytical and display excellent communication skills across all levels of the business
  • Logical and methodical approach with extremely high attention to detail
  • The passion and drive to take ownership and play a key part in the company's success
  • Ability to manage and develop people
