About Bupa

Bupa's purpose is helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives. Our status, as a company limited by guarantee with no shareholders, enables us to make our customers our focus, reinvesting our profits to provide more and better healthcare for current and future customers. We employ over 86,000 people, principally in the UK, Australia, Spain, Poland, Hong Kong, Chile, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, India, New Zealand and the US. Around 70% of our revenue is from health insurance, with the rest from health and care provision. We fund healthcare around the world and run clinics, dental centres, hospitals, care homes and retirement villages in a number of countries. For more information, please visit our website.

Category Manager - Professional Services (6 month FTC)

To deliver the very best in healthcare though, we need to make sure that we scour the global market to procure the very best products, services and advice. Thus our procurement function is the bedrock, the source, the core and arguably the beginning of all of the great things we do.

That's why we're growing the team and seek an accomplished Category Specialist to establish and develop our general professional and business services procurement, notably legal services, insurance, research and professional subscriptions on an initial 6 month Fixed Term Contract. You'll help us to create and deliver (even more) value through strategic sourcing expertise, amazing relationship management and all-round supplier brilliance

You'll probably be MCIPS, or MBA, and definitely have some rather impressive category management experience in the Professional and Business Services arena.Your expertise will probably have been gained within a large blue chip organisation and more likely than not you’ll have worked in a similar landscape and relish a culture of change.

You'll be charming, persuasive, capable of finding the angles that your stakeholders will love you for as you coax the best service from your category to enable them to craft competitive advantages which will form the platform for astonishing business performance.

Your current suppliers have come to reluctantly admire your blend of commercial "savvy", indisputable panache and a fastidious, all-seeing eye for detail and secretly wish you were on their side.

We're taking most of this for granted, because we want you to be a Bupa person.

What makes a Bupa person?

Someone who feels and breathes our values, appreciates the fact that we can reinvest the fruits of your labours directly back in to the business and sees that none of us is ever as good as all of us together.

Why Bupa?
