Buyer / Purchasing role in Newry up to £30,000
Your new company
You will be joining a well-established wholesale business based in Co. Down, who have a leading reputation supplying local retail chains with major global brands for the industry they specialise in. Recently, the company have joined a new buying group and expecting an influx in business turnover for the new financial year with new customers on board across Mid-Ulster, which is why they are seeking a fulfil a new role to work alongside their purchasing team and focus on implementing a strategic procurement plan.
Your new role
Working alongside the existing Buyer and reporting directly to the MD on site, you will have full responsibility to manage a set category of spend by analysing current procurement processes and initiating cost saving initiatives to achieve set KPI's. You will perform a senior role by liaising with all departments whilst placing a focus on maintaining existing supplier relationships with leading global brands and outsourcing new supply. Also, the purchasing specialist will negotiate pricing with global suppliers to achieve cost savings and agree contract terms with a emphasis on improving end-to-end supply chain processes.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have 2+ years purchasing experience within the FMCG food or wholesale industry with a track record of cost savings achieved through negotiation or new product sourcing. You will have experience raising purchase orders within a high volume environment, highly motivated to outperform set KPI's, manage an annual budget spend and be excellent at communicating with global suppliers/customers.
