An excellent job opportunity for an experienced Operations Director to join Europe's leading insulation panel manufacturer who has been awarded by the World Economic Forum. With offices in Germany, UK, USA, South Korea, Japan and Switzerland and 300 employees. Worldwide, this organisation is constantly growing on a global basis. Within the UK and globally they offer high quality container rental services for Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Biotech companies. With increasing partnerships worldwide, they are becoming one of the leading Pharma cold chain container providers globally.
You are responsible for managing Operations and in due course have the opportunity to become a legal officer also. You will be part of the senior leadership team of a dynamic, fast growing global business.
Operations encompasses: Logistics and Order fulfilment: ensure the right quantity of containers is available in the right location at the right time; network balance the assets across the globe in the most cost-effective manner; arrange third party transport between network stations and shipment origin/destination; manage repair & maintenance of the container fleet.
Asset management: manage the growing fleet of container assets; plan future demand for each container type and temperature range and make investment decisions; manage related assets such as temperature data loggers and freezers; provide input to the technical development and ensure compliance with airline and airport regulations. Develop and manage the growing global network of sub-contracted "network service stations" where our temperature controlled airfreight containers are pre-conditioned, released, received and stored.
Customer Service and Systems: provide direction to Customer Services team to ensure that orders can be fulfilled as confirmed; system owner of bespoke Order Management System (Microsoft Dynamics).
In addition, you will play a key role reviewing sales proposals to ensure they are commercially viable and that available resources are employed in the most advantageous manner. You are supported by a capable team of managers and operators but due to the size of the company and the exciting challenges of managing fast growth rates, there will be a fair amount of hands-on "doing" work as well. You will liaise on a daily basis with the Sales, Finance and Quality functions as well as with the German parent company.
You are a seasoned logistics/operations professional with a number of years of management experience and international exposure. You have worked in Aviation, Logistics, Clinical Trials, Healthcare or Pharma and can demonstrate strong commercial acumen. Your winning personality helps you build relationships and solve problems by influencing people who come from a wide mix of countries and cultures. You like to work in a dynamic environment with a friendly and highly motivated team, have a "can do" attitude and are proficient in Excel (Pivot, Lookup and similar). You are willing to travel in Europe and worldwide. The corporate language is English but knowledge of any foreign languages will be advantageous.
An excellent salary range between £80,000 to £120,000 per annum plus car and other benefits. This is subject to experience.
