TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.
We have an exciting opportunity to join the TfGM Capital Procurement team to lead on the sourcing of critically important transport infrastructure across Greater Manchester, influence senior stakeholders, drive innovation into our projects and drive out costs for reinvestment in future projects.
In this role you will be responsible for the development of procurement strategies together with the planning, implementation and execution of subsequent procurements ranging from call off competitions under existing frameworks to running, managing and leading the negotiation elements of competitive tenders in accordance with OJEU regulations.
You will have a degree of experience in Construction procurement with a commensurate level of contractual knowledge (ideally NEC3) and be MCIPS qualified or willing to study towards it. You will be focussed on understanding market trends and understand how best to leverage opportunities that the market can bring to Transport for Greater Manchester. You will have the ability to influence and communicate effectively to a range of audiences in order to sell your view of how the market should be approached in order to drive the optimum value for Transport for Greater Manchester.
