We are pleased to be supporting a global conglomerate business during an exciting period of centralisation with strong growth ambitions. Our client is a manufacturer of speciality products based upon improving the wellbeing of the world’s population and are recruiting for a Global Procurement Analyst to be based in their new head office in Amsterdam.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of procurement within this dynamic environment with a clear strategic direction and opportunities to progress within the function.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for organizing, planning and coordinating procurement activities that support efficient operations

  • Gather and analyse procurement data to identify risks and opportunities for improving the procurement operations

  • Translate & analyse internal customer requirements, develop business cases and monitoring progresses

  • Analyse production chains, supply and demand trends to support the supplier evaluation and negotiation process

  • Working together with Global Sourcing Managers, provide analytical support for Category Strategy development and communicate them clearly to stakeholders

  • Helping to establish and adhere to purchasing guidelines based on the strategies and goals created

  • Analyse current market condition in relevant fields; forecast future industry performance and make procurement recommendations accordingly

  • Report key findings to senior management

Essential skills & profile required:

  • Customer oriented approach

  • Familiarity with/good understanding of procurement (processes) and the market

  • Hands on; strong analytical and execution skills

  • Excellent communication, problem solving and elicitation skills

  • Detail oriented and capable of translating raw data into usable information

  • Strong learning capacity; Critical thinking, able to think and act strategically

  • Ability to work collaboratively and in a matrix management style organization      

  • Master degree in a relevant field (i.e. (Business) Economics or Chemicals

  • Project management experience in Data and Financial Analysis or Strategy / Business Development in an industrial, procurement, supply chain or operations environment

  • Excellent command of English is required. Additional language skills are desirable

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel

  • Knowledge of SAP and/or Ariba is an advantage
