The Commercial Medicines Unit (CMU) is a national medicines procurement function based in NHS England’s Specialised Commissioning team. Our key aims are to deliver efficiencies for the NHS in the procurement of medicines, initiate procurement projects and support the Department of Health purchasing for safety agenda for medicines. We ensure an efficient and effective supply chain for medicines from suppliers to the patient.
We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen within the Homecare Medicines and Services team for an Operations Adviser and Developing Commercial Practitioner. You will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an agreed work plan of robust homecare service framework agreements for NHS Secondary Care Trusts. This vacancy is based within our medicines procurement team. This is an opportunity to advance your procurement experience at a national level.
You will have experience of all aspects of procurement, preferably, but not necessarily in the public sector. You will also have experience of working in a fast-moving environment.
You will have excellent project management, analytical, organisational and IT skills, in particular full office suite, and will have the capability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced complex environment.
