Supply Chain Planning & Events Manager

500 new stores in just twelve years, 1000 new people in one and we’re about to open our fourth Distribution Centre. We’ve doubled in size in the last five years and we have plans to grow even further. We book enough pallets into our DC’s in just 3 months that if we stacked them they’d reach the Stratosphere. And, if you do your job right, our customers will never be more than half an hour away from the exact tool they need to do their job right.

The Supply Chain Planning & Project Manager role

New product launches, promotional activity, Catalogue launches and range changes. Projects in Supply Chain are nonstop. So much so, this role is here to manage and deliver these projects, on time and in full.  You’ll build and document a Supply Chain events process that supports the effective execution of these projects. Engaging with stakeholders across the business you’ll not only establish but bring to life best practice ways of working to support the successful delivery of these projects.

The skills you need as a Supply Chain Planning & Project Manager

This is a busy role where you’ll be managing multiple projects at any one time. This means we need someone who has worked in a project environment previously. Commercially aware, customer focused, credible and highly numerate all rolled into one, and if you’ve worked in Supply Chain that’s a real bonus!  We need you to be a natural problem solver who anticipates risks and drives solutions. You’re going to be working with lots of stakeholders so you’ll know how to influence people into your way of thinking and will be at ease communicating at all levels. You make decisions effectively and foster a culture of continuous improvement, prioritising deliverables and planning accordingly. On top of this, you need to use Excel to an advanced level.

But what’s it really like to work here? The pace is fast and the standards are high. We work very hard to meet the needs of our customers and be even more successful. But make no mistake, we also like to have fun, muck in and support each other. As our people make all the difference, we believe in promoting from within, which is why a career at Screwfix can really take you places.
