An organisation undergoing a period of exciting transformation, and implementing an ambitious, industry leading strategy, is seeking dynamic and innovative Procurement professionals with a desire to make a real difference.

This requirement is for 2 experienced Category Managers – one for the Electrical category and one for the Mechanical category, to join their Supply Chain Transformation programme. You will act as a strategic advisor to the relevant Enabling Stream by developing the sub category procurement strategy for the next 3 + years, to minimise total cost whilst maintaining quality and a safety first culture. This role is responsible for a spend profile in excess of £5million and is accountable for ensuring supplier performance and Enabling Stream targets are achieved, as well as contractual coverage is complete across the category.

We are looking for individuals with strong experience of leading significant change and value delivery, experience in developing and implementing long term procurement strategies as well as contract writing and management.  The successful individual will have a strong technical background in engineering, or a related degree, with great communication, presentation and influencing skills. You will also have prior SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) experience that has delivered significant improvements and value to an organisation.

Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, along with problem solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement; you should relish change and be prepared to lead and manage change in a dynamic environment.

This organisation has been making a difference for nearly 200 years. The team respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within our teams, and consider it essential to help deliver a world-class service. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, applicants should share the company’s commitment to living its values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping to work towards its goals. This involves a growing commitment to preventative action, using expertise to work in partnership with communities locally, nationally and internationally.

Please indicate in your personal statement which category you have a preference for.
