Procurement Specialist (12-month fixed term contract)
RSSB is an expert body that helps the rail industry collaborate to continuously improve and meet future challenges. It spans the whole railway, including in its membership infrastructure companies, train and freight operators, rolling stock owners and suppliers to the industry. RSSB supports rail in the areas of safety, standards, knowledge, innovation and a wide range of cross-industry schemes.
We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to manage a range of end to end procurement projects which support RSSB’s objectives. Managing mini-competitions and direct awards from framework agreements as well as facilitating tender evaluation processes you will partner with the business to understand requirements and provide advice. You will also develop management information data and use this commercial information to inform the strategy for procuring goods and services, and seeking out new opportunities.
You will have experience of working in a Procurement team as well as a good understanding procurement processes (e.g. knowledge of public contracts regulations 2015) and how to run end to end procurement projects. Strong communication skills are essential as are strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to fact find and present and discuss information professionally. Memberships of CIPS or part-qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
