Buyer / Planner
Varied purchasing and planning opportunity
This position is a pivotal role in the procurement function of this market-leading manufacturing business. Working as part of a best practice procurement team, this role would suit a Buyer / Planning professional who thrives in an autonomous and busy environment. Key duties will pertain to:
Ownership of key areas of spend for the procurement function across a variety of activities.
Hands on control of material purchases.
Negotiation of new supplier agreements to reduce the combined material spend of the group.
Monitor and maintain MRP to ensure data is correct at all times.
Monitor stock holding levels to ensure that inventory targets are maintained and support and participate in stock take activity
Working in conjunction with Purchasing and Operations monitor material availability and capacity loading Champion continuous improvement and Lean activities, Six Sigma, etc.
Demonstrable experience of the above in a manufacturing or engineering based organisation is essential with excellent communication and organisation skills a pre-requisite.
