Opportunity for a transport planning team leader to join a growing business, you must come from a supervisory position within transport with European freight planning experience.

  • Achieve the efficient planning of the transport operation

  • Deliver products in a timely and cost effective manner

  • Control the cost associated with materials distribution

  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with H&S guidelines

  • To assist in building an effective transport team with a customer service culture

  • Build effective working relationships in proactive manner with all colleagues

  • Achieve appropriate Transport KPI's

  • To ensure that all company procedures and policies associated with the commercial transport fleet are followed and adhered to

  • To plan the daily routes to meet the delivery requirements

  • To ensure safe working procedures are defined, understood and adhered to

  • To ensure that all legal and logistics reporting requirements are fulfilled

  • To capture all cost activity, i.e. carriers, suppliers and Agency Drivers

  • To be involved in the evaluation of existing systems and the identification of shortcomings and highlight improvement opportunities

  • To liaise with customers to ensure a positive relationship

  • Fully utilise all the Vehicles

  • To be aware of and comply with all requirements of the Health & Safety policy and procedures

  • Communicate to the business the status of vehicle / delivery availability

  • To ensure that all Vehicle and Moffett defects / damages are reported in accordance with company policy


*Be pro-active in creating a positive working relationship with colleagues throughout the business

*Experienced within transport planning for at least three years with supervisory/management responsibilities

*Can build and develop positive working relationships

*Good Communicator

*Understanding of legal transport compliance

*Strong UK geographical knowledge


*IT literate in Microsoft Office

*Good general attitude to work

Job Offer

A salary between £30,000 and £35,000 dependant on experience + Benefits
