Varied Planning & Purchasing opportunity
This position is a pivotal role in the Supply Chain function of this market-leading manufacturing business. Working as part of a best practice team, this role would suit a Materials Control / Planning professional who thrives in an autonomous and busy environment. Key duties will pertain to:
Monitor stock holding levels to ensure inventory targets are maintained with no buildup of obsolete products; participate in stock take activity; work closely with customer Service, Manufacturing and Purchasing to co-ordinate build of completed products to customer requested dates; ensure purchase orders are placed and expedited so as to maintain stock and service level at optimum; ensure all MRP exception messages are acted upon appropriately; Negotiation of new supplier agreements to reduce the combined material spend of the group.
Monitor and maintain MRP to ensure data is correct at all times; and support the championing of continuous improvement and Lean, Six Sigma activities.
Demonstrable Materials Control / Planning experience in a manufacturing or engineering based organisation is essential with excellent communication and organisation skills a pre-requisite.
