At present, the indirect spend area is ever increasing since the organisation is at the very early stage of fully leveraging scale and capability to professionally source the indirect categories - this provides huge opportunities for an individual with a can-do attitude to further expand the role and its responsibilities. 

The Indirect Procurement Manager will be directly responsible for managing the majority of the indirect categories independently. The indirect portfolio represents currently an overall spend of circa £30+ million and covers areas such as Technology, Facilities Management and HR services. Your main goal is to assure supply, drive consistency and compliance of services provided and to meet cost performance expectations of the business. You’ll be expected to continuously investigate cost savings and optimization opportunities within the categories under your management.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serving the internal customer with excellence to drive value through the identification and management of areas of indirect spend
  • Leading internal stakeholder education and communication for the indirect procurement team 
  • End-to-end ownership of designated areas of indirect spend from cradle (ideation, customer consultancy, negotiation) to grave (contract implementation, KPI execution and follow up) including respective customer and supplier relationships
  • Leadership in building strong category plans and sourcing strategies
  • Strategic Supplier Relationship Management to drive value and leverage across entities/regions
  • Supporting management in major strategic contract negotiations, including developing the approach and supporting bidder interaction up to the conclusion of the project
  • Supporting the delivery of policies, processes and supporting documentation for strategic contracts

Skills and Achievements:

  • Proven and relevant experience in Procurement, ideally indirect
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop & maintain relationships, particularly with key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Proven track record of delivery and cost savings against spend
  • Strong team and relationship building skills
  • 2+ years of work experience in procurement
  • Degree level qualification
