As a Senior Procurement Manager, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic Commercial team delivering an effective Category led end to end Procurement service for all Corporate Spend, 'in scope' procurement activity on behalf of the entire organisation to drive maximum benefit and efficiencies.

Client Details

  • Manage the team's business support function, including developing and managing the team's annual business plan, progress and dashboard reporting and risk and issue management
  • Liaise with functions with the Sector
  • Manage all corporate business returns, including planning and workforce returns
  • Develop and implement a content management system to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, Directorate and the wider organisations
  • Take a lead in the coordination of training and development and recruitment activity across the department

  • To manage all procurement activity for one or more categories on behalf of the entire organisation to drive maximum sustainable benefit and efficiencies.
  • To support the Commercial function as the Centre of excellence for Procurement activity by identifying and delivering against an agreed savings programme.
  • Ensure that business input to Business Cases is accurate and completed correctly
  • To create a plan for all Procurement projects within the Procurement Manager's area and ensure these are delivered on time
  • To utilise a robust set of appropriate tools, processes and innovative solutions across the commercial lifecycle that drive value from every commercial decision
  • Ensuring that category management principles are used correctly across one or more assigned categories
  • To ensure that all activities are commercially focused on delivering sustainable, innovative procurement solutions, in full compliance with relevant UK and EU legislation.
  • To ensure that all Procurement activities are conducted in a professional manner following EU guidelines to minimise the risk of any supplier challenge.
  • To ensure that Governance processes are employed correctly to ensure a consistent approach
  • To ensure that all relevant Procurement templates are employed correctly to ensure a Professional and consistent approach across the team
  • To manage the Tracker for one or more categories to ensure that it is accurate, complete and up to date

  • MCIPS (Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or equivalent
  • Proven Procurement track record
  • Leadership and management experience

Job Offer

£56000 - £65000

FTC post 9months potentially 12months
