A great opportunity has arisen as Commercial Manager providing contracting support to the organisation. You will provide support to the commercial bid team and colleagues across the organisation on competitive tendering and business development opportunities, as well as the role out of the contracts themselves.



Client Details

The Commercial Manager will be providing commercial and contractual support to the organisation, ensuring any contractual arrangements (SLAs, partnership agreements, service agreements, etc.) meet required specifications whilst maximising benefit and minimising risk for the organisation. Field Based for the North across Leeds, York, Harrogate, Sheffield, Manchester, Wakefield, Barnsley, Durham etc. (Commercial Manager Healthcare Sector)

Description

  • The Commercial Manager which is a Field Based post for the North across Leeds, York, Harrogate, Sheffield, Manchester, Wakefield, Barnsley, Durham etc. will lead, develop and negotiate any contractual arrangements for the organisation and provide commercial support and key information to the organisation at large.
  • Acts as the contract subject matter expert for the organisation, maintaining an up to date understanding of all existing contractual arrangements and an in depth knowledge of national policy relating to contracting healthcare services.
  • Facilitate annual contracts and associated service specification negotiation and signing, and advise and support on contract variations and issues.
  • Provide contractual/commercial support for individual bids/proposals run by the Bid Managers, including project management support as appropriate, to ensure all agreements/ bid submissions meet standard specifications whilst maximising the benefit and minimising the risk for the organisation

Contracting

 Leading, developing and negotiating commercial, clinical and corporate services SLAs/contracts, and managing the performance of these agreements through KPI monitoring and facilitating management meetings

 To lead negotiations alongside Divisional Directors / Managers

 Reviewing the provider's contracting performance at an operational and strategic level, and providing advice to stakeholders with regards to ongoing contract performance management, ensuring crucial KPIs and other performance measures are monitored and delivered as necessary.

 Providing commercial support to the organisation with regard to existing SLAs/contracts, amendments and addition of new services, including the determination of risk and financial impact.

 Advising on and drafting standard partnership agreements to ensure key partnerships deliver desired results whilst mitigating potential risks.

 Providing contractual/commercial support for the implementation of new service agreements.

 Capture details of all existing SLAs/contracts as well as understand services being provided without any SLA/contract, and help inform the future pipeline of opportunities managed by the bid management team. Analysis of this highly complex data will be at the highest level with resultant options affecting whole organisation.

 Maintaining a detailed understanding of all SLAs, contracts and partnership agreements, and recording a high level summary of all key contractual details centrally.

 Ensures all contractual clauses are monitored, disseminated and any issues reported on a timely basis to the relevant Boards, Service Directors and external agencies as required. The information will be highly complex and require highly developed negotiation skills.

 Ensures that all contracts and agreements are signed and completed on time (within national timescales, where appropriate) and within agreed budget envelopes/ in accordance with the Costing and Pricing Policy.

Profile

  • Have contracting experience NHS/ Local Authority / Healthcare
  • Possess strong relationship building and communication skills, with ability to work within a complex multi professional environment effectively;
  • Able to work autonomously within a complex organisation;
  • Have excellent analytical skills and ability to review complex contracts and to analyse complex and potentially sensitive and contentious data;
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.Have strong management skills with the ability to lead and develop a team
